Notable facts

Origin

Pinhais is the domestic Portuguese label of the same Matosinhos cannery that exports its fish under the Nuri name. Founded in 1920, Conservas Pinhais & Cª has run on the same traditional method for over a century: fish cooked before canning, then packed entirely by hand.

Where Nuri leans into a light spice, Pinhais-branded tins are the plainer, unspiced version of the same fish and process — a purist's cut of the same century-old craft. We looked directly at the company's shop and retailer listings for a wider, separately confirmed Pinhais product range, but beyond the plain olive-oil tin, current international retail listings are dominated by the Nuri label; we've left the Pinhais range conservative here rather than assume it mirrors Nuri's full lineup.
